A Qatar Airways flight (QR017) traveling from Doha to Dublin encountered severe turbulence while flying over Turkey on Sunday (May 26th, 2024). The incident resulted in the aircraft experiencing cabin injuries and prompting an emergency landing in Dublin.
Thankfully, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner landed safely shortly before 1 pm local time. However, medical attention was required for twelve individuals on board - six passengers and six crew members.
Details remain unclear regarding the extent of the injuries. Qatar Airways is currently investigating the cause of the turbulence.
