Designing and building world-class fire and rescue training facilities for the industrial, municipal and aviation sectors

Structurus has established a global reputation for excellence in building fire and rescue, and security training facilities due to its user-centric approach and value-engineered methodology.

How We Build Fire Training Facilities

Our process begins by generating the fire training facility’s functional design based on user experience. Our strengths include our team’s ability to leverage new technologies such as 3D design and Virtual Reality, so clients can see, feel, and conceptualise how their training ground will be utilised before it is built.

By conceptualising fire training buildings in a 3D or a virtual reality environment, we create realistic environments perfect for user testing and validation. This allows our clients to assess the commercial utilisation prospects of the proposed facility more easily and to use these elements in their decision-making process.

Upon concept design agreement, our in-house engineering and design skills are utilised to deliver the end result. This includes producing the technical specifications, calculating the budgets and setting timelines across all mechanical and electrical disciplines.

We use our experience to carefully consider existing resources and if/how these may be utilised or adapted to clients’ needs to save costs and unnecessary expenses.

How We Build Fire Training Facilities
Fire and Rescue Training Applications

Fire and Rescue Training Applications

We design and build firefighter training centres and academies and fire stations for all applications ranging across aviation, oil and gas, hazmat, security, and municipal sectors.

The training centres we design serve the following training types and applications: Fire safety training, live fire training, structural training, marine fire training, containerised fire behaviour training, firefighting training, search and rescue training, confined space training, counter-terrorism training, training with shooting ranges, security training and damage control training.

Typical customers who can benefit from our vast experience include fire brigades, civil defence forces, special forces, national guard forces, air forces, police and military.

ARFF Training Facilities (Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting)

We design and build ARFF training facilities where airport firefighters and rescue teams can train on a wide range of scenarios. These training scenarios include emergency response, mitigation, evacuation, and rescue of passengers and crew of aircraft involved in aviation accidents and incidents.

Aviation emergencies are a serious matter, and airports are required to keep their emergency response teams’ knowledge and training up to date due to the mass casualty potential of aircraft incidents. We work with ARFF training experts who advise on the training potential of the facilities we design as well as the technical specifications such as props and equipment required.

Structural Firefighting Training Facilities

Structural Firefighting Training Facilities

Firefighters are required to respond to many different scales of fires in a range of structures; whether municipal or private. We design and build structural firefighting training facilities where firefighters can train on and enhance their skills in structural search and rescue, building materials, structural collapse, confined space, and effects of fire suppression.

Firefighter Training Facilities

We design and engineer firefighter training facilities where trainees can practice their existing firefighting skills and techniques. The training applications of these facilities range from safety procedures, firefighting tactics, firefighting PPE, extinguishing and cooling tactics, pre-incident planning, and more.

Industrial Firefighter Training Facilities

Industrial Firefighter Training Facilities

Industrial fire training requires industry-specific training facilities in response to different fire scenarios in an industrial setting. For example, the conditions that can arise during an aircraft fire or a refinery fire can be entirely different. We design industry-specific fire fighting training facilities comprehensively, by taking the trainees’ experience into consideration.

Hazmat Firefighter Training Facilities

Hazardous materials response in firefighting is crucial training for fire and rescue services. We design and build safe training facilities considering mitigation scenarios. The Hazmat firefighter training facilities allow firefighters to train on a range of potential risks that can arise during a fire where hazardous materials can explode, vaporise and become toxic and more.

Marine Firefighter Training Facilities

Marine Firefighter Training Facilities

We have experience working with both government and private organisations in building training facilities for marine firefighting, where the training environment is completely different from a usual facility. We take a range of fire hazards at sea, and marine fire scenarios into consideration and build versatile marine fire training facilities.

Military Firefighter Training Facilities

Firefighting training for defence forces is important in protecting army, navy and air force bases and the military forces. We develop special projects for governments; we design firefighting training facilities that resemble air bases, naval bases and army installations where military firefighters can train in a range of scenarios.

Maintenance of Fire Training Facilities

Maintenance of Fire Training Facilities

At Structurus you can rely on our knowledgeable team of service technicians to inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot your fire training facility. Professional, routine service results in improved firefighter training capability, readiness, and reliability. We have the capabilities to maintain all types of fire training simulators, including any upgrades for the fire simulation equipment or the control system software. As part of our design and build service we typically provide a list of recommended replacement parts for every operation, a maintenance manual, and maintain an electronic archive for future reference purposes.
