About a third of storage fires are caused by lightning strikes
The latest tank fire in 2020 took place at Hengyuan refinery in Port Dickson district, Malaysia on the 22nd of May 2020. This is another example of the importance of early detection and extinguishing systems to protect high-value assets such as oil storage tanks.
Rim seal fire protection systems such as the CFI system detect and extinguish these incipient fires early on, and they are the most effective solution to mitigate risks and prevent such fires in mere seconds.
