On August 8th, a fire broke out in four oil tanker lines at an Aqaba oil refinery. Thanks to the swift action of the Aqaba Civil Defense Directorate, the fire was quickly contained and prevented from spreading to nearby oil tankers.

On June 13th, 2024, a fire erupted at an oil refinery in Iraqi Kurdistan. The blaze raged for nearly 20 hours before firefighters finally contained it.
